Empowering Staff with AI Skills: New Professional Development Series Kicks Off December 10

The Mayberg Foundation is launching a professional development series with a half-day Exploring AI Workshop—an introductory session for staff and grantee partners who share our space—scheduled for December 10, 2025. This workshop will demystify artificial intelligence through hands-on, practical guidance: participants will get clear explanations of how AI tools work, discover ways to simplify daily tasks, enhance communication, and generate new ideas for AI application in their workflow.

Staff will learn tips for crafting effective prompts, practice using popular AI tools, and gain experience organizing notes with voice-to-text technology. The session will also cover evaluating the reliability and ethics of AI outputs, ensuring our staff's use of this tool is aligned with our Foundation’s mission and values. The goal is for everyone to leave feeling more confident and informed about using AI thoughtfully in their work, setting the stage for more learning and collaboration throughout the series. A follow-up session focused on applying AI specifically to grantmaking tasks is also planned, with the date to be announced soon.

The session will be led by Dr. Michelle Caryn Paul, president of Equifinality Solutions, LLC. Dr. Paul has spent her career helping organizations reinvent their workflows and boost human performance, with experience spanning Silicon Valley tech firms, nonprofits, and government clients. She holds a PhD in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Maryland and is passionate about making AI accessible and practical for mission-driven teams.
