Mayberg Foundation Joins Israeli Government, UnitEd, Jerusalem Post and Herzog College in Honoring Educators with Global Jewish Teachers Award

Nominations are now open for the Jewish Teachers Award, a new international initiative recognizing outstanding Jewish educators around the world. The award is a joint effort of The Jerusalem Post, Israel's Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, UnitEd, and the Mayberg Foundation, in partnership with Herzog College. Up to seven winners will be selected from Jewish day school teachers worldwide who have at least three years of experience teaching Jewish Studies, Hebrew, or Israel Studies. Winners will be flown to Jerusalem and fully hosted as guests of the Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism at the Global Jewish Educators Summit, running October 12–15, 2026. Each winner will also receive a $2,500 cash prize, courtesy of the Mayberg Foundation. Nominations can be submitted at jewishteachersaward.com through August 17, 2026.
Mayberg Foundation President and Trustee Manette Mayberg will serve on the award's international judging panel, chaired by Amichai Chikli, Israel's Minister for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, alongside Rabbi Dr. Howard Deitcher, Professor Emeritus at the Seymour Fox School of Education at Hebrew University and Chair of UnitEd's Advisory Committee, and Dr. Erica Brown, Vice Provost for Values and Leadership at Yeshiva University and Founding Director of the Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks-Herenstein Center for Values and Leadership. "It is an honor to serve with a distinguished and diverse panel of judges and a privilege to be part of this new and global effort to illuminate and appreciate the value of the Jewish educator,” Manette said.
