MyZuzah and Its Partners Turn Grief from Bondi Beach Tragedy into a Global Jewish Pride Movement

In the face of rising global antisemitism and recent tragedy, MyZuzah is drawing on its deep network of global partnerships and expansive reach — active in 79 countries and 30-plus U.S. states, having distributed 25,000 mezuzahs to date with a goal of reaching 50,000 homes — to turn moments of crisis into powerful declarations of Jewish pride.

Rabbi Menachem Lessoff helps a Jewish family in Ukraine put a MyZuzah mezuzah on their front doorpost.

MyZuzah's ongoing Global Jewish Pride Campaign in Australia and beyond was launched in partnership with Rabbi Menachem Lessoff, director of Jewish Life at VCU and CEO of Mezuz.us, and JJ Eleff, president at DansDeals, to celebrate Jewish pride and honor Rabbi Eli Schlanger, who was known for encouraging others to perform mitzvot such as putting up mezuzahs on their front doors and was killed at the Bondi Beach attack at a Chanukah celebration in December 2025.

By leveraging MyZuzah's international network of on-the-ground partners and its robust supply chain, the initiative has already distributed 315 mezuzahs across Australia and more than 200 additional mezuzahs across Ukraine, Germany, Poland, and to US military families — a testament to the reach MyZuzah's partnership ecosystem makes possible. Whether responding to local vandalism or global tragedy, MyZuzah is ensuring that the Jewish community remains visible, resilient, and unafraid to stand proud.

Recipients of the Australian mezuzah distribution shared what receiving a mezuzah meant to them:

"MyZuzah reached out to me through the local Chabad. It felt good to put it up. Now our house really feels like a home. I'm proud to have my Jewish identity on the door."

"I'm so grateful for the free mezuzah program... Having one gives me a feeling of security in my home and pride in my identity. I also love the small moment of awareness of Hashem's presence I have every time I walk through my front door and kiss my mezuzah."

From a doorpost in Sydney to homes across Europe and US military families abroad, MyZuzah's message remains the same: Jewish identity will not be hidden. Through partnerships with organizations like Mezuz.us and Dan's Deals, MyZuzah is turning tragedy into a collective statement of pride — one mezuzah, and one home, at a time.
