Food and Friends Helps Delivers Lifesaving Meals — and Hope — to Thousands Locally
/Mayberg Foundation partner Food and Friends provides more than 5,500 seriously ill adults and children in our community are receiving the nutrition they need to heal and thrive. This year alone, the foundation’s investment has helped make possible the delivery of over 1.8 million medically tailored meals — a 12% increase over last year, according to Food & Friends Senior Director of Development Marilyn Turner.
Marilyn emailed Mayberg Foundation Managing Director Amanda Mizrahi to express appreciation on behalf of Food and Friends clients like Loris Adams. After battling ovarian cancer and receiving crucial support from Food & Friends during her treatment, Loris has since become a volunteer with the organization.
“Food & Friends was truly a lifeline in how I survived this experience,” Adams said. “Food & Friends provided food for my body and soul... I don’t know if people realize when they come to volunteer how lifegiving Food & Friends is, truly.”
We at the Mayberg Foundation are grateful to be a part of neighbors like Loris' journey, supporting them every day on their path from client to survivor to active community member.
