Mayberg Foundation Leadership Celebrates Community Impact and Support at Hebrew Free Loan Brunch
/
The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Greater Washington (HFL) supporters gathered for the organization's annual brunch last Sunday to celebrate leaders whose efforts have greatly strengthened the Greater Washington Jewish community. Honorees included Mayberg Foundation friends Laura and Yossi Goldman as well as Rabbi Penina and Rabbi Aaron Alexander, who were recognized for their contributions and dedication.
Each year, HFL—a Mayberg Foundation partner—provides close to $1 million in interest-free loans to local individuals and families, empowering borrowers to weather financial hardships with dignity. Most recently, HFL responded to federal government furloughs by offering emergency support, ensuring community members affected could access funds quickly and without additional financial burdens. Mayberg Foundation leadership who joined in the celebration included Trustee Louis Mayberg; Executive Director Todd Sukol and his wife, Amy, who serves as HFL’s vice president; Managing Director Amanda Mizrahi, who serves as HFL’s treasurer; as well as JEIC Managing Director Sharon Freundel.
